Job description

Purpose of the role:

To lead Business Technology in the Business Unit/Functional Areas with the purpose of supporting and enabling the realisation of business strategies and objectivesin leading a team.

Client Project management

• Define and agree the scope of a programme or project with relevant stakeholders based on user needs, available funding, time dependencies and resource availability.
• Oversee the delivery of multiple project components and take accountability for integrated project activities where project activities/ components span across and involve co-ordination across functional areas with numerous interfaces

Managing people

• Translate the company vision and values into a clear work context for the team; generate a shared understanding and commitment towards the realisation of business objectives.
• Encourage good performance by establishing clear links between performance measures and BU/FA BT outputs.
• Retain talent by recognising and fairly rewarding good performance and progress made towards the achievement of business objectives.
• Identify team capacity and capability requirements to enable current and planned strategic business initiatives

Minimum qualification and experience

• A four years tertiary education in a related field such as a B Comm (IS) or BSc (Computer Science) is required MBA/Business/Leadership/Project Management courses are advantageous.
• 8 years overall relevant business experience in the banking industry.
• 5 years exposure to leading teams.
• 3 years Portfolio planning and Resource planning, reporting, prioritisation and budgeting experience.
• 3 years IT Service Management experience
