    Developer Team Lead

    Job description

    Purpose

    Reporting to the Client Support Manager, the incumbent will manage the Systems Developers to ensure quality development delivery with minimal returns from testing

    Qualifications and Experience Required

    • IT Degree/Diploma or equivalent
    • Advanced knowledge of MS SQL 2012, .Net 3.0 or higher, C# Programming language, HTML/ASP.NET, and visual studio
    • 6 – 10 years’ experience as a senior systems developer
    • 1 – 3 years’ team lead experience
    • Minimum 3 years’ architecture experience
    • 3 years’ experience in mobile applications
    • 1-3 years team lead experience

    Key Areas of Responsibility

    • Planning and management of Developers
    • Develop strategic and operational plans for the developers, and discuss those with the manager
    • Ensure implementation of the approved plans by supervising staff
    • Monitor and review plans continuously
    • Design, develop, enhance and maintain computer systems
    • Write technical specifications
    • Configure and optimise applications
    • Design, develop, enhance and maintain system reports
    • Recommend ideas and solutions
    • Perform research and development of ideas and concepts
    • Interface with users, management, and external IT service providers
    • Ensure that developer solutions are in conformity with the system architecture
    • Ensure that the quality of processes improves
    • Reduce and/or ensure no re-work/service
    • Reports and Meeting attendance
    • Produce monthly unit reports
    • Produce project reports and ad hoc reports
    • Attend unit meetings and ad hoc meetings
    • Project management
    • Allocate and supervise work of project team
    • Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with mandatory requirements and all applicable international and bilateral agreements
    • Staff Management
    • Provide developer support and coaching through frequent informal and formal discussions
    • Ensure developers comply with required standards and procedures
    • Implement and use the performance management system fully, to monitor the performance of subordinates
    • Knowledge, Skills and Competencies required
    • Implement and develop reports on MS reporting services
    • Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
    • Ability to work with data and computer programs to build system solutions
    • Ability to design and develop solutions
    • Good working knowledge and understanding of computer systems and technologies
    • Ability to provide user support on application Systems
    • Must be user oriented
