Your tasks and responsibilities

• To manage efficient product supply for the South African and specific Sub-Saharan Pharma Markets. This entails the co-ordination of the S & OP process to obtain a nett demand for the various markets.
• Leading negotiations with Supply Centers & 3PL teams to make product available on time in the required quantities and at the right cost. Identification and mitigation of risk related to product supply and compliance.
• The position holder will ensure efficient storage and distribution of PH products while maintaining compliance and or alignment to regulations, best practices as well as corporate policies and directives.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

• Ownership of the ongoing Demand Review component of the monthly Sales & Operations Planning Cycle including set up and chairing of monthly meetings together with compilation and dissemination of applicable reports.
• Generation of rolling 36 month SKU level forecasts using Excel, RoiPE and SAP APO tools and timely loading of forecasts into APO.
• Analysis of forecast & stock levels to identify potential stock-outs, obsolete & excessive inventory to be regularly communicated to the business;
• Prevent finished goods scrapping by ensuring sales & marketing focus on actions plans to sell out short shelf-life materials, obsolete and phase out products.
• Achievement of shared and agreed forecast accuracy targets.
• Assist the Pharma business in decision making by providing ad hoc support in the analysis and modelling of demand impacts and balancing supply constraints.
• Develop strong and long term stakeholder relations – which results in added value for both your portfolio and the business, allowing for trust based discussions on difficult topics with senior business leaders.
• Work as an active member of the Supply Chain Management team in striving for best practice S&OP processes at local and Regional level.
• Support of monthly supply chain reporting needs of the Pharma business to local and global colleagues
• Project manage new product launches to ensure product availability to market as required to meet budgets and targets. Use own initiatives and leadership skills to navigate potential hurdles across the Supply Chain / QA / Marketing Departments / 3PL’s to ensure all relevant stakeholders play their part in prioritizing processes standing in the way of meeting launch deadlines.
• Ensure that all PH Logistics operations are consistent with pertinent legislation, codes, regulations or industry best practice with respect import, storage, transportation, return and export of all Bayer products.
• Maintain continuing compliance to and alignment with, applicable Bayer group Directives, Regulations and or Guidelines. Ensure adherence to ICS Sub-process areas where responsible.
• Ensure relevant Master Data is efficiently managed (SAP, Promat, 3PL, etc.) to avoid risks in terms of product supply / stock provisioning levels & frequencies / material status, etc. Well managed Master Data is the key to efficiency within systems.
• Manage processes of clearing of imported inventory through customs in addition to ensuring that correct paperwork is processed and costs are correctly allocated to imported goods with key focus on ensuring full compliance to all relevant regulations and tax laws.
• Manage conflicting demands (exports vs local market) for low stock level products using tact and leadership to manage expectations and drive the best solution for the business.
• Negotiate rates with Clearing Agents and maintain good relations with service providers.
• Ensure correct documentation is supplied to Customs and SARS – maintaining Bayer’s good standing with SARS and Customs
• Participate in cross functional project teams sharing knowledge and driving results e.g. Supplier Management teams, New Product Development, Sourcing, etc.
• Support Standard Costing processes in close alignment with Financial Controller – costing errors have direct impact on financial reporting.

WHO YOU ARE

• Graduate qualification in Supply Chain, Commerce or Business degrees and/or proven relevant experience in a similar environment;
• APICS qualification in CPIM (desirable);
• Two to four years of experience in Healthcare demand planning;
• Experience and knowledge of S&OP process;
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Experienced user of SAP R/3 MM/PP, APO and BW (desirable)
• Excellent written and oral communication skills;
• Well-developed analysis and problem solving skills;
• Demonstrated Leadership skills and teamwork spirit;
• Stakeholder management experience – essential;
• Demonstrated ability to show flexibility in a changing environment;
• An inspiring attitude towards learning and when faced with challenges.
