As the lead, you will direct team(s) through the entire delivery process, executing on the considered end-to-end experience. As a Creative Director your mastery of branding, grids, typography, graphic design, colour, layout, iconography, imagery, and design patterns and systems will inform your team to address ambiguous, complex problems and projects. You'll apply IBM Design Thinking and methods to uncover user and brand requirements in the context of the cluttered landscape. Additionally, Creative Directors are responsible for creating ideas, communications, and interface; maintain style guides, UI toolkits and other design documents that provoke a reaction from intended audience and users.
Creative Directors are visionary and persuasive leaders that lead ideation sessions and presentations. A significant level of customer and stakeholder interaction is required. Possesses the skills required to manage client expectations and involvement. Manages the relationships across the stakeholder spectrum and facilitates interactions. Support client engagements by contributing to RFPs, support pitches, roadmap explanations and planning.
Champion design decisions with qualified rationale that is justified through their own experience and design research, or through findings from other Design professionals. They must have the ability to negotiate and evolve the design with stakeholders in the project team, and ensure the integrity of the design is upheld in the delivered product.
The Creative Director is a vision owner that leads a highly collaborative team in order to deliver products, services and experiences that go beyond requirements. The Creative Director understands the client’s business and brand, and can articulate the personality of this product within the client’s brand. Leads negotiations between development and business to collaborate in order to elevate the overall design. The Creative Director is able to anticipate communication issues and is able to assess opportunities, trends and impacts.
The Creative Director leads a multi-disciplined team through a proposed solution phase and often leads multiple projects, sub-projects and tracks of work. Their role is an influencer of people and organisations, including executive management, when issues are complex/difficult and requires considerable diplomacy. The Creative Director will have multiple account responsibility, be a contributor to the overall the Practice / Domain and culture of design at IBM.
