BI Developer / EDW Engineer at JUMO.WORLD

Job description

We are motivated by an ambitious purpose and inspired by the exceptional people that we work with and we are looking for an BI Developer / EDW Engineer to join our Data Systems team. This position will be based in Cape Town and will report to the Head of Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Purpose
To drive, design and build scalable ETL systems for a big data warehouse in a highly scalable environment in order to drive the highest return on data.

Key Responsibilities

• Continually enhance and maintain our existing ETL frameworks in line with agreed design patterns and internal governance standards to improve our EDW product offering and to remain scalable
• Mentor, lead and develop junior staff to ensure work of the highest quality
• Design and implement ETL pipelines
• Create easily understandable technical documentation that are kept up to date
• Ensure highest data quality assurance through regular and in-depth review and testing of work

Key Requirements

• A relevant business or IT degree / diploma
• Solid designing and technical development experience
• SSIS experience including the ability to ingest and output XML, csv, Json and other flat file types
• SQL coding, troubleshooting, data validations and cleansing (SQL 2005 / SQL 2012 / SQL 2014)
• Experience in MS SQL Stack – SSIS / SSAS / SSRS
• Solid Microsoft SQL warehouse experience
• Programming experience in C# or Python
• Experience of IT Governance, Project Management methodologies and QA standards
• Creating bat files, powershell scripts and BCP
• AWS Redshift
• Experience within finanacial services and / or mobilemoney industry or a start-up environment is advantageous
