Indirect Tax (VAT) Specialist AA/EE at Network Recruitment

Job description
A large JSE listed financial services organisation in JHB is looking for a well-presented and detailed orientated individual to join the tax team. This position reports into the Tax Manager and involves:

• To accurately and timeously complete and submit VAT returns, related payments, and monthly VAT accounting entries.
• To review and compare, on a monthly basis, internal VAT accounting with SARS statements of accounts to ensure they are reconciled.
• To review VAT submissions prepared by the business units where applicable to ensure compliance by the business.
• To review the VAT processes and controls within the business in order to minimise VAT risk.
• To continuously advise and provide training to stakeholders to ensure optimal awareness and competence with regard new and existing VAT compliance.
• To engage on operational level with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective VAT risk management.
• To accurately perform VAT ad hoc calculations to ensure maximum VAT compliance.
• To regularly undertake research in order to hone technical skills and ensure that incumbent stay abreast of developments in VAT.

Qualifications:

• Bcom Accounting
• VAT qualification advantageous

Experience:

• 2-4 years VAT experience within a consulting or commercial environment
• Salary on offer is R400k - R450k CTC per annum.
