About the role

IRESS is seeking an experienced developer for the FIX and Algorithmic Trading Team in our Cape Town office.

• Must be able to work within a global organization that spans multiple time zones

   

• Collaborate on design and implementation with Developers, Business Analysts and Testers.

   

About you

• 3+ years commercial experience with a modern object orientated language (C#, Java or C++)

   

• Understanding of data structures, design patterns and object-orientated design.

   

• Familiarity with version control system (i.e. Git or TFS)

   

• Experience with Relational databases

   

• Looking for an environment that thrives on autonomy

   

• Must be able to communicate effectively with remote co-workers

   

• Be or are willing to become an expert C++ developer

   

The following will be beneficial:

• Degree or diploma

   

• Experience using Python

   

• Experience using C++

   

• Experience with Scrum

   

• Knowledge of agile development philosophy

   

• Knowledge of financial markets

   

• Knowledge of the FIX protocol

   

• Experience with multi-threaded and message driven object oriented designs

   

• Experience using Visual Studio and/or MSSQL

   

• Experience with Order Management systems

   

• Experience with Orchestration systems

   

• A strong mathematical or statistic background
