Key Performance Areas: (Specific Description of the job)

Business Intelligence

• Implement and influence a standard reporting system in the organization.
• Develop standards for best practices for reporting, marketing, and educating the company on available reporting tools in the company
• Ensure that the business knows whom to approach when requesting a report
• Provide the tools for executives to make strategic decisions
• Provide the information for executives to make strong business decisions.

Database Development (SQL)

• Knowledge of various performance improvement concepts.
• A good understanding of DDL(Data definition language) and DML(Data manipulation language)
• Debugging of the Sybase ASE / MSSQL.
• Strong experience in developing SQL scripts.

Consulting (R&D, Development, UAT, BAU)

• Facilitate projects internally and externally with clients, developers and external providers.
• Do problem resolution and troubleshooting.
• Provide support to the business in implementing solutions.
• Consult with the Business and Business Analysts on solutions.
• Proactively identify and put forward system enhancement recommendations.

Support

• Investigation / bug fixes of errors reported by users and database administrators
• Doing root cause analysis
• Problem analysis
• Problem resolution
• Facilitating correspondence calendar events
• Testing the resolution of production issues
• Log management
• Initiate production enhancements and implement

Communication

• Communication between the client/business, analyst and technology teams
• Communication within the project and supprt scope

Prior Work Experience / Background:

• Knowledge of / experience within the financial services industry (preferably investment banking) advantageous
• Extensive development experience in T-SQL.
• Previous experience of working as part of Sprint teams and knowing AGILE concept advantageou
• Technical / Special Requirements (PC Skills / Product Knowledge / Specific Competencies)

Required

• Good working knowledge of MSSQL Stack (T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS).
• Good working knowledge of OLTP and OLAP principles and applications.
• Good working knowledge of Sybase ASE database.
• Data life cycle and management techniques.
• Advantageous
• Cold fusion or similar web application development platform.
• Previous experience of using Git (BitBucket) as source control for deployment
