The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

• Prepare and/or oversee preparation of Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) presentations.
• Contribute chapters and/or boxes for the Monetary Policy Review.
• Conduct economic research and analysis to inform policy, including the preparation of economic notes and research briefs.
• Draft speeches, reports and briefing notes as required.
• Gather economic insights through structured interviews with executives of firms and other key stakeholders.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive ‘intelligence’ stakeholder database.
• Design and/or refine economic intelligence processes and methodologies to enhance impact.
• Synthesise and report on economic intelligence insights to the MPC and other internal stakeholders.
• Supervise junior staff within the division.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

• a Master’s degree in Economics or an equivalent qualification; and
• five to eight years’ experience in economic analysis, forecasting, research and/or macroeconomics, microeconomics or financial economics.
