Point of Sale (POS) Systems Support Analyst at Distell

Job Description

Distell (Head Office, Stellenbosch) requires the services of a POS Systems Support Analyst responsible for the integration, support, maintenance and administration of requests relating to Point of Sale, SAP relevant integration and Trade Xpress relevant SAP processes. The successful incumbent will report to the ICT Service Centre Manager. The incumbent is required to ensure that functionality is optimised to ensure the best support for the relevant sales processes.

Purpose Ot The Position
The POS System Support Analyst will be responsible to support Retail Office End Users with all queries, issues and requests for Retail Office. The incumbent will also create training material for the above-mentioned application and present classroom and one-on-one training, Trade Express users from time to time. The POS System Support Analyst will report to the ICT Service Centre Manager, however will also report to the Priority Support Team Leader.

Your key performance areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Assist Priority Support team leader, system analyst and project managers to identify business process improvement opportunities through the use of existing or future applications
• Perform tasks related to integration aspects to and from POS application
• Assist with compilation of functional specifications for application developments with vendor
• Quality assure application configuration and development
• Implementation and testing of support packs and notes
• Provide support for the POS technical environment (excluding the server setup to the point of OS installation)
• Provide support for all aspects of the POS application, critical SAP transactions user calls during working hours, from 17:00 to 19:00 and on weekends per standby register.
• Manage calls on HEAT call logging system to ensure it is within SLA
• Assist with identification of system risks and implement corrective action
• Support of other scanning solutions relevant to Trade Xpress
• POS training

The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Qualification, Experience/skills

• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
• Tertiary qualification would be advantageous
• Very good business knowledge in the areas supported by POS (Retail Office)
• Proven IT Technical skills
• Excellent knowledge of database structures and general database management
• Solid understanding of Information Systems and Technology management
• Exposure to SAP PI would be advantages
• Exposure to SAP SD and MM transactions and processes woudl be advantages
• Very good analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong administrative ability with high attention to detail
• Goal orientated team player
• Ability to work under pressure
