    Technician Mechanical Maintenance

    Job description

    Key Performance Outputs

    • Input into maintenance planning, scheduling and execution of the assets.
    • Ensure and execute safe planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
    • Provide input into the development of the maintenance planning programme and execution thereof.
    • Participate in failure investigation and root cause analysis.
    • Maintain and/or manage material and spares.
    • Consult and give support in commissioning and testing of assets.
    • Ensure implementation of continuous improvement of the equipment/infrastructure.
    • Conduct studies and make recommendations on upgrades/replacements of assets.
    • Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies and practices.
    • Adherence to municipal by-laws.
    • Manage Service Level Agreement
    • Conduct continuous Audit and quality control (activities and contractual) and implement remedial action where required.
    • Determine, as part of cross-functional team, evaluation criteria and participate in evaluation and award of bids / tenders received.
    • Prepare, specify, scope of work and technical requirements
    • Provide Input into allocated budget.
    • Identify cost-saving initiatives within area of control.
    • Compile and submit relevant reports.
    • Identify and report possible efficiency enhancements and initiatives to ensure resource savings.
    • Provide relevant and specialised technical support in area of expertise to relevant stakeholders to ensure achievement of objectives

    Technical Skills And Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:

    • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Civil Engineering is essential.
    • A minimum of 3 years€™ operational experience in Infrastructure Maintenance.
    • Microsoft office basic level.
    • Basic SCADA and PLC

    Competencies

    This position calls for a candidate who is composed and has sound written and verbal communication skills, demonstrates good judgement, detail-orientated, diplomatic, directs people, fair and can be able to solve problems. The role also seeks someone with strong planning, detail oriented and conflict handing abilities.
