    PR Account Manager

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic, boutique content and communications agency that specialises in developing meaninful content for good! We specialise in helping organisations profile their social impact projects and work with some SA's leading corporates and NGOs.

    This role for someone who has great writing skills, enjoys executing media and content campaigns, knows the media and is passionate about making a difference. You must be lively, curious and foster a hunger to grow and learn. Wallflowers need not apply!

    How we see Content Creation:

    For us Content Creation is simply an evolution of the traditional PR discipline. It’s about taking the messaging and information a PR agency would normally create for clients and making it work harder, in more formats and across multiple platforms.

    Main purpose of the role:

    • To manage and implement PR and media engagement strategies and plans developed in agreement with Head of Content.
    • To create releveant, meaningful content that engages your audience especially online and on social media platforms
    • To position stories and gain story traction in the media
    • To project manage the agency's design and publishing work.
    • A good understanding of Corporate Social Investment, sustainability and CSR will definitely give you the added advantage. You should be up to speed on the latest news in education, entrepreneurship (enterprise development) and other development areas.
    • You should ideally come from a PR background with at least 5+ years experience... but you must be willing to learn about broadcast, and publishing content. You must have good media relations skills and be able to develop content for soical media and online channels. You should have a basic understanding of the world of online PR.

    Content development

    • Developing of relevant and engaging content for your client campaigns including scripts, social media content, media releases and basic web copy
    • Implementation of content and media plan with the support of junior team members
    • Together with your team finding content that is useful for your clients – providing context, placing content and deciding how content should be displayed or communicated.
    • Content curation – the repurposing of content
    • Translation of research into storylines and angles for media and other audiences
    • Understanding of content subject – trends, news, information, on content subject - political, economic, social, technological, environmental and legal.
    • Manage the execution and implementation of content and comms plans to deadline
    • Management of deadlines and delivery according to status report
    • Develop and seek out storylines for media
    • Input into creative concepts and developing story lines
    • Mentor junior members of team where required
    • Filling out of timesheets on Chase

    Content research

    • Manage research process into content subject matter using a variety of sources
    • Conducting research interviews either face to face or telephonically with key stakeholders

    Client service:

    • Taking and clarifying of client and internal briefs
    • Developing and getting quotes signed off by clients
    • Updating client status report
    • Attending and mangaging client meetings – providing input into reports and plans
    • Supporting the Head of Content in pitch presentations and proposals

    Content distribution and syndication

    • Conceptualise, understand and plan media distribution channels for client campaigns
    • Manage and oversee this distribution
    • In depth understanding of media – ability to give recommendations

    Media engagement

    • Indepth relationships with key media - both national, regional and local
    • Pitching and positioning of stories with media
    • Developing supporting media content: press kits, fact sheets, media releases
