Job description

• The finance manager also actively provides financial support for Southern Africa initiatives and other ad hoc assignments.
• Reporting functionally to the regional assistant controller EMA and dotted line to the country general manager Southern Africa, your main responsibilities will include:
• Control and coordinate all financial and accounting matters for the local operations (local GAAP, US GAAP)
• Supporting the capital appropriation reporting and control of capital expenditures
• Ensure local statutory, tax and audit compliance
• Support the BD Southern Africa segment/unit leaders with budget/projection
• Ensure proper and timely monthly reporting to Europe/EMA HQ
• Be the link between local organizations ESSC and FACE
• Review and approve payroll reports, invoices, cash advances, bank payments, etc.
• Receivable management and credit control
• Develop and maintain solid internal controls to ensure safeguarding of assets and the proper recording and reporting of business transactions
• Partner with business managers, technical service and other functions to enhance finance acumen and decision making, monitor process discipline and ensure existence of appropriate controls
• Support the country general manager and the business managers in terms of financial analysis, management reporting and key projects
• Act as finance liaison to the Third Party Logistics Provider to ensure they deliver timely and accurate records and information
• Manage and lead local finance associates by coaching, coordinating development plan and feedback
• Assist in outlining the future set-up for the region in terms of administrative support
• Administer BEE certificate process and ensure targets are met
