Job Description

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

Providing leadership to the team in ensuring the Operation’s Supply needs strategically match with the market, takes responsibility for supplier management and development as well as contract administration and engages with the team to track and monitor performance targets of optimal cost of ownership and surety of supply.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma Commercial /Engineering/Mining Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial
• 2 years supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Experience in SAP is essential
• Experience in the mining environment would be advantages
• MBA would be advantageous.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Provides leadership and direction -Leads, coaches and mentors team members to ensure delivery against performance targets
• Implement group strategy on key/ global strategic suppliers where applicable
• Collaborates with a cross functional team to develop Hypotheses to improve strategic sourcing practices and commercial outcomes for the business
• Develops and implements sourcing strategies, (Operations and Projects)
• Develop Negotiation Strategy, endorsed and approved in accordance with the Delegation of Authority
• Negotiate all future changes in current contracts incl. scope, price etc
• Positioning to take advantage and reduce risk from any changes in the markets or specific suppliers
• Manage supplier performance and business continuity risk and implement corrective actions where appropriate on contract performance.
