    The Job

    The Business Manager for South Africa is responsible for the development of the Baxter business in the country. The incumbent is responsible for the sales and marketing teams’ direction, development and selection. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring the health of Baxter’s relationship with key customers in the country. This role carries full responsibility for the sales, profit and SG&A spend in South Africa

    Essential Duties

    • Manage the sales and marketing team in South Africa to achieve the agreed financial and strategic goals agreed with MEA senior management
    • Develop and define the Sales and Marketing strategy for the country in the short and long term to ensure the best options for the current and future portfolio. Marketing strategy to be developed and defined in partnership with regional marketing team
    • Identify future growth opportunities within the country.
    • Constantly look for ways to improve the sales force efficiency while implementing tools to manage its performance
    • Build long-term relationships with existing and new customers while keeping them fully informed about Baxter products & therapies
    • Ensure customer needs are wholly met guaranteeing customer satisfaction
    • Promote Baxter Healthcare products, therapies and services to key decision makers
    • Manage the SG&A expense budget for the country
    • Coach, develop, motivate, support and lead the sales team while acting as a role model and supporting company values
    • Develop and sustain outstanding customer relations, including relations with key opinion leaders, government ministries of health, local health care systems, third party payers and key decision makers
    • Finalize forecasts and propose Sales budget in conjunction with MEA management.
    • Analysis of the results, sales budgets, pricing, consumer research, the market, the competition and the profitability of the country while preparing the launch of new products & marketing actions in line with the set objectives

    Who You Are

    Job Qualifications

    • Experienced Sales and Marketing professional with 5-10 years experience in relevant markets.
    • Solid track record in leading sales and marketing teams
    • Strong ability to understand market trends, financial data, customer needs, and assess competitive intelligence data.
    • Established relationships with the key customers within the state sector.
    • Strong knowledge of South Africa pricing and reimbursement environment.
    • Fluent written and spoken English.

    Education/Experience

    • Degree level education preferred with minimum of five to ten years experience in health-care/pharma industry.. Proven track record in sales and marketing management type roles

    • Basic knowledge required
