CFO: Private Equity at Paton Personnel

Job Description

Be part of a new venture within Asset Management with big players in the industry. Our client is seeking a strong and experienced CFO to form part of their energetic, innovative and intellectual team. The CFO will be contributing towards planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.

The CFO’s responsibilities will include the following:

• Leadership and development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
• Candidate needs to understand complexities of the business - e.g. hedge fund structures / complicated tax structures / the business will be structured as a small asset management company / will have to know FSB regulations.
• Ensure credibility of the Group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
• Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system.
• Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives so as to identify their needs and seek full range of business solutions.
• Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities.
• Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
• Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Minimum requirements:

• Suitable candidate should be a Chartered Accountant with several years of relevant experience/ exposure to Private Equity.
• Must have international exposure as some investors will be offshore.
• Must have knowledge of exchange controls.
• Must have knowledge of listed entities as some of the investors are listed.
