    Engineering Specialist - Industrial Engineering

    Job description

    Support production on a daily basis with productivity related safety, quality, delivery & cost issues, to ensure manufacturing processes meet intent in terms of correct manning levels, optimized layout, packaging and materials flow, ergonomics and within engineered cycle time targets.

    Position Details:

    • Drive development and/or installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods. Track labor, efficient manpower utilization and line balancing
    • Conduct Job Ergonomics evaluations
    • Analyze problem process constraints and conduct equipment cycle time analysis
    • Recommend most efficient distribution of manpower and review daily employee manpower, analyze plant methods and standards
    • Conduct time and motion/Modular arrangement of predetermined time standards studies and review employee proposals and suggestions
    • Review proposed changes in plant layout, processes, material handling, routing, etc.
    • Support Ford Production Systems & Lean manufacturing principles
    • Perform and update Modular arrangement of predetermined time standards Modular arrangement of predetermined time standards and Global Study Process Allocation System database
    • Perform analysis of automatic and manual machining department work stations
    • Support packaging and part presentation optimization
    • Perform yearly benchmarking exercise and update capacity analysis documentation
    • Maintains simulation data for the machining and support departments
    • Plant layout engineering to support current and new programs

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Proficient in MS Office Software – PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
    • Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
    • Detailed analytical skills essential
    • Must have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary)
    • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Need to work well under pressure and to be able to work under crisis management when necessary
    • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in ONE FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
    • Proficient in work measurement techniques (method, time studies etc.)
    • Proficient in AutoCAD (Layout Engineering)
    • Proficient in Material Handling & Packaging Engineering
    • Good understanding and application of Ergonomics
    • Knowledge of quality operating system

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • National Diploma/Degree in Industrial Engineering
    • A minimum of 3 – 5yrs experience as an Industrial Engineer working within a manufacturing engineering environment.
