PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide the strategic direction for the business and sales team; maximise business opportunities through a unique understanding of the markets and customer dynamics within the sphere in which the sales team operates. The incumbent will be based at the Lomati Sawmill in Mpumalanga.

REPORTING TO: General Manager Forestry

• Create and drive Sales and Marketing strategy
• Responsible for achieving budgeted sales volume and price.
• Manage Sales representatives on set targets.
• Manage claims.
• Manage and analyze market information for all products in the portfolio.
• Manage sales mix to maximize profitability within the sales portfolio.
• Manage and strengthen customer relation and align manufacturing capabilities with market needs.
• Investigate new market opportunities. Responsible for department fixed cost.
• Manage customer incentives in line with strategy.
• Assist with credit risk and debtor book in portfolio.
• Prepare sales budget.
• Prepare monthly forecast.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• National Diploma Sales and Marketing or equivalent qualification.
• Must be computer literate.
• Minimum experience: 5-8 years Senior Management experience- ideally within the Sawmilling soft wood timber industry 5 years dealing with sales.
• Knowledge of SANS 1783 AND 10096.
