    Retail Investment Consultant


    Job Description

    A Cape Town based financial company is seeking a Retail Investment Consultant who is passionate about applying their financial knowledge to the world of customer experience, and enjoys interacting with potential clients to assist them with pre-and post-retirement planning. 2-4 years of investment related experience in a new business role (preferably with retirement products) is required.

    Duties

    • Conduct personal consultations with select customers, providing investment, retirement, legal and tax advice to prospective and existing clients
    • Contact prospective and existing clients to understand their financial situation and goals, and discuss the company’s product offering
    • Consultations may include analyzing financial information and assisting with financial decisions to help clients plan for short and long term savings and investment goals
    • Leverage the company’s tools to help clients understand whether they are on track to meet their goals, and where they are off track help guide them towards a better financial future
    • Explain complex transactional and financial investment principles clearly
    • Together with the team of Investment Consultants, take ownership of any client queries relating to investment products, strategy or financial decisions
    • Prepare personalised quotes for clients when required
    • Work with the corporate team to educate corporate members on financial wellness as well as present to corporate members when necessary

    Requirements

    • 2-4 years of investment related experience in a new business role (preferably with retirement products)
    • Relevant tertiary qualifiation in a related field (Economics, Business, Financial Management, Investments etc.) from an accredited institution
    • CFP preferable, but not essential
    • Knowledge of investment and wealth management strategies, supplemented by a passion and flair for passive investment strategies
    • Able to understand complex financial documents and statements and general knowledge of financial and tax laws
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English essential, additional language skills preferable)
    • Tech savvy – able to navigate multiple systems simultaneously in order to help clients timeously.
    • Must be able to competently use Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.

    • Analytical – not afraid of financial analysis and comfortable discussing numbers
    • Obsessed by detail, and meticulate in recording all client information and updates, ensuring first class customer relationship management
    • Ability to both lead and collaborate
    • High energy, positive attitude and proven track record of high achievements.
