Job Description
Main Job Purpose

Maintaining efficient combustion in the boiler including Coal, Husk and Gas.

Job Summary

• Lighting-up a boiler (including Coal, Husk and Gas)
• Banking a boiler (including Coal and Husk)
• Shutting down a boiler (including Coal, Husk and Gas)
• Checking and operating the water treatment plant
• Testing boiler water and managing the blow down of the boilers
• Trouble shooting and problem solving
• Managing coal offloading
• Managing the fuel bunkers and husk store
• Starting and stopping the Electrostatic Precipitator
• Managing fitters
• Issuing and closing Permits to Work
• Maintaining the boiler house logs
• Observing Safety
• Carry out Job Observations
• General Housekeeping
• TPM

Key Requirements

• Grade12/ Matric
• 3-5 Years’ experience as a Qualified Boiler Attendant and training
• Correct use of PPE
• Water analysis
• Stoking, Lighting and Damping boilers training
• Emergency Procedures relating to boilers training
