Job Description

WhereIsMyTransport is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper to manage our companies financial recording keeping. This role will include both the posting of all financial transactions, developing policy and creating necessary financial reports and analysis.

This role is based in our Cape Town office, reporting to our Chief Operating Officer. The role has great growth potential at a young VC funded tech company. You will get to work directly with senior management, influence our internal policies and the opportunity to grow into a senior financial management role.

Salary: negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Reconcile all bank and credit card accounts
• Produce monthly financial reports
• Create Budget Variance Reports
• Responsible for all tax payments and compliance
• Manage payroll process and tax payments with external provider and Head of Human Capital, including UIF, Compensation Fund, IRP5 filings
• Maintain petty cash
• Manage financial files and paperwork
• Collaborate with COO to create and manage
• Chart of Accounts
• Financial analysis
• Budgeting
• Financial Modelling
• Financial Controls and Policies

About you

• Apart from being Proactive, motivated, and able to operate without supervision, you should have:
• Most importantly you must be a critical thinker who likes to see their role within the greater context, can work independently, know when to ask questions and always like to improve processes and systems
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong business judgment and communication skills to interact with a variety of people and job functions
• 5 years proven bookkeeping experience, with a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
• Experienced MS Excel user
• Experienced SAGE Pastel Software user
• Proficiency in English
• A BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration would be advantageous.
