Job Description

DStv Digital Media is looking for a Digital Video Producer to join our dynamic team. This mid-level position will be part of the editorial team that works across all our digital platforms including DStv, GOtv and our Apps.

The Role

• The candidate is primarily responsible for short format video creation and to publish multi-media content, to support a variety of business requirements on our digital platforms.
• We’re looking for an energetic, creative go getter with a self-starting attitude.

Outputs

• Candidates should be proficient in video content production and publishing in a digital environment: Take responsibility for all aspects associated with the creation of multi-media content, including:
• Regularly share newly produced content & ideas with the wider team
• Manage content strategies across all digital media platforms
• Interpretation of briefs: Conceptualisation, storyboarding, shot lists.
• Produce content for use across all social and digital platforms: Planning, video and audio recording, lighting, directing – this will require travelling and attending promotional shoots
• Post production: Data capture, asset management, editing, audio levels, grading, generating graphics, exporting of required formats.
• Engagement with new editing technology and keen interest in industry best practices to maximise efficiency in a mobile-first environment.
• Knowledge of video animation software would be beneficial.
• Keep up with video trends in the online and social media environments.
• Publish to our Content Management System and social media platforms with appropriate meta data, tags, SEO, annotations and geo-targeting where required.
• Assist with additional ad hoc tasks when required.

Experience, skills & Qualification:

• At least three-years multi-media content creation / short format video production
• Experience with DSLR cameras, sound and lighting.
• Expertise in FCPX, and some knowledge of Photoshop or After Effects and/or other industry standard software.
• Exceptional command of English, both written and verbal
• Excellent computer literacy.
• Relevant undergrad degree in media or similar field.
