Applications are invited for the above mentioned position in the Marketing Southern Africa division based in Techno Park, Stellenbosch. This person will report to the Marketing Director Southern Africa.

Purpose Statement of Position

To provide actionable consumer, competitor, customer and shopper insights, providing strategic recommendations to support the marketing functions in achieving their business growth objectives.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Strategic & Financial Results
• Provide insights and recommendations to inform brand strategy and performance
• Provide clear recommendations and implications based on deep Marketing insights to direct business decisions
• Deliver cross functional insights from customer, consumer and shopper marketing data
• Input insights to build relevant and impactful brand and channel campaigns
• Operational Results
• Executing the Brand and Category Insights programme
• Design, develop and execute research programmes
• Facilitate and disseminate to relevant stakeholders
• Co-ordinate and analyse consumer, market, competitor and customer related information to manage brand success and identify opportunities for growth within the region
• Lead cross functional insights team to ensure the translation of information into relevant and meaningful insight
• Drive and deliver Regional brand health monitor and ensure relevant Regional Market Segmentation
• Pro-actively coach teams around all Distell insightfulness competencies
• Customer & Relationship Results
• Develops internal and external relationships and networks with organisational focus to resolve both short term issues and resolve longer term projects/work
• Build effective relations with internal and external work partners to adhere to service level agreements where applicable

• Provide relevant insights and requirements into innovation pipeline and approach for the category
• Ensure new product launch plans take into account the most relevant consumer, customer and shopper insights to deliver market impact
• Launch trackers developed to monitor performance

The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

• A relevant and recognised post graduate qualification in Commerce/Marketing/Social Sciences
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in consumer insights
• Proven experience of delivering actionable consumer, competitor, customer and shopper insights.
