We currently have an exciting position open for a qualified individual who has a few years’ experience in the integration and support of IT/software systems, and the configuration and management of Business Intelligence and reporting tools.

Project management and customer engagement skills would be of great benefit in the role.

We are looking for an outgoing, self-motivated team player who will enjoy the challenges offered by solving problems and providing solutions in a small but rapidly growing business that has numerous large blue chip clients in South Africa and offshore.

The person must primarily have very high attention to detail, be able to deal directly with our clients, cope with pressure and provide consistent high quality outputs.

Applicants must have 3 year tertiary qualification (Degree / Diploma in IT) and preferably 2 to 4 years working experience in a relevant / suitable field.

CTC Salary range: Market related based on qualifications and experience.

The incumbent will report to the operations manager and or technical director and will be expected to work closely with our clients and other IT professionals within the company, external vendors etc.

The incumbent will be based in our Braamfontein, Johannesburg office and must be willing and able to travel overseas.

The broad primary roles of the incumbent will be:

• To create, implement and integrate solutions using our leads management system and its components to address client problems as identified,
• To develop and maintain our BI and reporting technologies and processes,
• To provide ongoing client support and communications – remotely and on-site as required within the agreed support SLAs,
• To provide ongoing input into the development requirements, features, testing etc. of our leads management systems.

Specific Responsibilities

• The set-up, configuration and customising of our systems to meet client’s needs,
• Writing and optimising queries in SQL,
• General trouble shooting of production systems, dealing with and resolving customer issues with the systems,
• Maintaining and developing database processes and scripts,
• To create client dashboards, reports etc.
• Develop, maintain, and perform various data loads and ETL processes
• Improving and streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.
• To create and maintain client reports as well as reports for monitoring and tracking system processes.
• Meet with clients and implement system solutions which meet client’s business requirements.
• Research, evaluate, test and implement new technologies required by the company.
• Remain abreast with new trends and developments in the IT environment.

Technical Skills/Proficiencies and Experience

Required/Essential:

• SQL – writing and optimising queries,
• Report creation and design using any one or more of the following tools MS SQL, iReport, Pentaho, Qlikview or Crystal reports,
• Business Intelligence suites/tools (Pentaho or other BI tools using ETL etc.)

Advantageous/Useful:

• PostgreSQL,
• HTML,
• Linux,
• JavaScript,
• Adobe Lifecycle Designer,
• Experience within a Business Analysis capacity.

The incumbent may be expected to undertake in an oral and a practical assessment of the above skills in the interview process.
