Job purpose

The Short-term insurance broker will be responsible for developing the broker portfolio and generating new business for the Cape Town region, by increasing the market share for this portfolio.

Key outcomes

The following outcomes will be expected to be achieved by the Short-term Insurance Broker:

• Ensuring that the highest level of Client Service is provided to all clients
• Assist clients with queries
• Involved in ad-hoc client service projects
• Deal with insurers on rating issues
• Underwrite risks
• Reporting to Head Office
• Negotiating with insurers on problem claims

Qualifications and experience

• Matric/ Grade12
• FAIS accreditation which is aligned to commercial business
• 5 years experience in short term of which at least 2 years must have been within a short term broking environment
• Commercial and domestic knowledge within broker environment
• Ability to communicate fluently (verbal and written) in English
• FAIS representative
