Legal Counsel at Samsung Electronics

Job description

Samsung SSA is looking to employ an experienced commercial Legal Counsel to join our Legal team. This exciting role involves:

• Providing legal and compliance advice.
• Ensuring that policies, procedures, agreements and practices comply with commercial, intellectual property (IP), labour and competition laws as well as all other statutory requirements.
• Providing of legal advice.
• Vetting and drafting of contracts.
• Legal management of compliance, risk, and contracts
• Legal and business negotiation.
• Both Legal and Non-legal Administration work.
• Attending to the Litigation portfolio.
• Building and maintain relationships and interface with external attorneys and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• LLB Law degree.
• Admission as an attorney or Advocate.
• At least 6 years post-admission experience as a practicing attorney or in a legal advisory capacity dealing with legal commercial issues. (At least 2 year in-housel legal advisor experience)

Required Skills and Competencies

Technical:

• Knowledge of relevant national and international legislation and codes of good practice (e.g. Labour, Commercial, Contract and Litigation)
• Knowledge of current legal, statutory and regulatory issues
• Superior negotiation skills
• Superior drafting and vetting of contract skills
• Excellent communication on skills (including report writing)
• Ability to understand and deal with complex legal matters
