    Head of Business Development : Travel Management

    Job description

    Head of Business Development : Travel Management - Africa

    Location: Johannesburg

    Salary: R800 000 total cost to company

    Please be aware that for the position of Head of Business Development - Africa:

    Applicants must be South African nationals

    As Head of Business Development, you will need to have :

    • had exposure to and a working understanding of the oil and gas industry and the complexities of mobilising contractors on ever changing work schedules and handling the logistical challenges to ensure critical departures and arrivals.
    • a good understanding of African geographical locations and remote areas, and relevant airports, ports and a good understanding of country visa application and processes, for the contractor crews.

    The role of the job will be to:

    • plan, initiate, develop and implement sales on a regional basis.
    • coordinate an effective and efficient day to day running of the regional Business Development department.
    • develop short, medium and long-term strategies and ensure that goals are met for the region
    • manage and develop effective customer retention and new business strategies

    Head of Business Development Job requirements:

    Essential:

    • Grade 12 plus a tertiary qualification
    • At least 10 years sales / business development experience
    • At least 2 years experience in a customer relations environment within the travel, tourism, supply chain or logistics industries
    • Presentation skills
    • Ability and flexibility to travel locally and beyond South Africa's borders
    • Flexibility to work after hours due to the operational nature of the industry

    Benefits:

    On offer is an annual package of R800 000 (slightly negotiable for the right person)
