Requirement Overview

This position within the Auditor-General is at middle management level and requires an applicant of absolute integrity with excellent communication and leadership skills, who will ensure the independence, impartiality and professional stature of the office

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing the strategic direction of the component and manage teams by ensuring that they are aligned with the vision, mission and organisational strategic objectives of the office;
• Grow stakeholder relationships and increase the value of the audits;
• Provide training and development as well as managing audit teams’ performance.
• Implement a culture of performance management;
• Enhance and maintain employee motivation;
• Assist in identifying revenue growth opportunities within the component and optimise its operational expenditure;
• Ensure the provision of quality and cost-effective service, which will promote the office’s image of professionalism and independence;
• Assist with the management and improvement of business process efficiency;
• Supervise the SAICA Trainee Accountant Training Scheme;
• Assist in compiling audit plans, drafting management letters, audit reports and other related documents; and
• Lead a team in an exciting environment.
• Knowledge of Consolidated Financial Statements will be an advantage

Skills, Experience & Education

• The candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of, and skills in, auditing and accounting as well as a CA(SA), ACCA or RGA qualification with completed articles.
• Completed articles (3 years)
• 2 years post articles work experienc e as Assistant manager.
• A valid driver’s license is an inherent requirement of the position.
