WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Role

In your role as a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Officer at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by

• Directs health, safety and the environment to ensure legal and policy compliance in all aspects of health, safety and the environment
• Reviews policies in order to maintain and manage comprehensive health and safety services for the plant, safeguarding all personnel and company assets
• Prepares sites for the audits
• Compiles action plans following audit recommendations and drives the implementation thereof
• Assists in conducting internal site audits between external audits by EMEA and global teams and reports on effectiveness of plant’s safety and environment procedures and programs
• Co-ordinates the investigation of any environmental incident, accident, safety hazard or risk and recommends preventative measures to minimise potential risks to both personnel and the company
• Proactively investigates best practice in safety systems and makes recommendations accordingly, ensuring that the environment remains uncompromised
• Complies with and ensures that all health and safety rules are met and acts pro-actively by addressing any safety concerns which may be harmful to self or other employees
• Ensures compliance with the accredited Safety & Environmental Management systems

WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE?

Required

As well as a hunger to learn, to succeed in this position and to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements:

• National diploma in EHS / equivalent qualification
• Frequently demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role

Knowledge of:

• Environmental, Health and Safety systems and standards
• OHS Act and any other relevant statutory Acts
• Strong influencing skills, a passion for our brands, and a strong execution and results focus are essential, in addition to project management skills and the ability to prioritise.
• Significant experience in the EH&S field
• Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations including air, waste water, storm water, solid and hazardous waste
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to effectively make decisions and problem solve

Preferred

Experience in the EH&S field within the food & beverage industry

WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?

You will have contact and communication with government agencies, non-government organizations; and internal communication with senior management, Legal and Corporate Affairs.

This role may involve working in confined spaces and/or high places from time to time.
