Job description

JOB PURPOSE

To generate the Master Production Schedule (MPS), taking into account the various constraints and production dynamics (customer demand / forecasts, resource capacity constraints, milk availability, inventory (finished goods and raw & pack), production rules). The objective of the role is to maximize customer service levels whilst maintaining optimal levels of finished goods and incurring minimal levels of waste.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Supply Planning
• Generate the MPS taking into account the forecasts (daily and weekly) to determine the production needs (short, medium and long term), given multiple considerations such as resource capacity constraints, milk availability, inventory (finished goods and raw & pack)
• Responsible for milk planning and balancing
• Define the finished goods safety stock policy (as an input to the plans)
• Anticipate capacity constraints in the medium and long term, and propose solutions to the business
• Continuously balance supply and demand, and make decisions on production priorities when required (considering factory (PSL) and sales performance), alerting internal stakeholders where appropriate
• Generation of accurate medium and long term plans to support materials planning (MRP)
• Manage the plans aligned to the Service Level Agreement with Industrial, including the production of min/max batches, production frequency and lead times, and other relevant production rules
• Ensure appropriate visibility to the logistics teams to support warehouse and transport resource planning (e.g. peak planning, stock build planning)
• Contribute towards service level attainment through adequate product availability, managing appropriate inventory levels as well as planning losses
• KPI Reporting
• Ensures proper innovation / renovation launches in production
• Ensure end-to-end knowledge within the supply planning team
• Stakeholder Engagement
• Build and maintain good working relationship with other departments, within Supply Chain and others
• Transparency of any supply issues that could impact business performance
• Contribute actively to company projects and project teams

Academic And Trade Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• 2-3 years’ experience in planning
• Previous working experience in manufacturing is essential
• Previous FMCG experience is preferable
• Previous experience with SAP is an advantage
• Project management skills is an advantage
