    As an Engineer in ALE SA you will be tasked to create engineering work that is innovative, high quality, accurate, clear, thorough, cost effective and safe for our stakeholders. We undertake to deliver these solutions timeously & to the stakeholder’s satisfaction, ensuring effective operational implementation. Whilst meeting our stringent commitments to health and safety, quality and impact on the environment.

    Role Responsibility

    • Engineering solutions for clients’ / stakeholder’s heavy transport and installation needs, both on site and in the office.
    • Attend kick off meetings with Commercial and Operational teams to establish the client’s / stakeholders exact requirements.
    • Ensure the engineering documents comply with company procedures, legislative guidance and good practice.
    • Attend site visits to measure and record specific information, including the route details, and to ensure that this information is incorporated into the RAMS.
    • Co-ordinate with the internal departments to ensure activities are compliant with ALE’s agreed scope
    • Provide technical support to the ALE site supervisor and respond to issues on site in a professional and timely manner.
    • Audit site RAMS for compliance by the operational team and provide feedback to Engineering & Operations Department.
    • Create & Review Engineering Drawings and Calculations
    • Create & Review Risk Assessments
    • Create & Review Method Statements
    • Create & Review Equipment / Personnel lists
    • Create & Review Project files
    • Create & Review Route Surveys
    • Report writing
    • Complete daily admin tasks accurately:
    • (DWTS) Daily Work Tracking Sheets
    • Timesheets
    • Engineering Document Register
    • Master Document Register
    • Conduct HSQE audits
    • Capture HSQE observations

    The Ideal Candidate

    • Degree or Diploma in related engineering discipline
    • Legal Liability Training
    • Incident Investigation
    • Risk Assessment Training
    • First Aid Training
    • Fire Fighting Training
    • Route Cause Analysis Technique
    • Work placement in engineering or related business.
    • Relevant experience in a similar industry for a minimum of two years
    • Travel, with extended periods abroad
    • Designs and Engineering drawings using AutoCAD
    • Report Writing
    • Intermediate Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook
    • Advanced Excel
    • Autodesk Inventor (3d Modeling)
    • Clear understanding of the relevant equipment and its use
    • High level of self-motivation (Proactive)
    • Good communicator – written and verbal
    • Able to work as part of a team
    • Able to learn new techniques and procedures
    • Able to invent and propose new methods of work/modifications to existing systems
    • Come up with logical solutions to problems
    • Quality and detail focus
    • Organized (Accurate document numbering and filing)
    • Able to work and handle pressure
    • Able to lead a team
    • Clear concise communicator – written and verbal
    • Able to adapt communication style to suit audience (Site operator – Client – Board member)
    • Effective planner
    • Willing to travel and work within and outside South Africa for extended periods
    • Current and valid drivers license
    • Current and valid passport, no restrictions
    • Willing to relocate internationally
    • International driving license
