    Financial Analyst: Budget & Reporting

    Job description

    The following position has become available within Finance Department.
    This position will be based at our Cape Town office, reporting to the Budget & reporting Supervisor.

    PURPOSE OF JOB

    To generate and analyze for local management financial information, ensuring the compliance of due dates, taking into consideration local and US laws and principles (US-GAAP), as well as PMI internal policies, in order to facilitate the process in the strategy decision making that could impact the results (OCI). Otherwise assist in budgeting cycle activities (OB/LRP and RF) and assist in the preparation of Financials presentations to local management.

    PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • REPORTING Establish the regular monthly management reports are prepared, analyzed, commented and reported according to the instructions from financial management and/or external authorities. Ensure that the monthly, quarterly and yearly communications with the Region/PMI are sent in a timely and accurate manner.
    • BUDGETING Prepare and analyse the budgets (including macro-economic assumptions, market shares, volume assumptions, analysis of cost centre expenses, pricing, etc.) and plans (3 year plan) in a timely and accurate manner. Provide support to cost centre responsible in the preparation of their budgets (OB and Rolling Forecasts).
    • Elaboration and analysis of business drivers, such as Volume – Price – Excise - Allowances - Marginal Contribution
    • Elaboration and consolidation of overheads expenditures
    • FINANCIAL ANALYSIS Provide management with ad-hoc financial analysis, presentations and / or estimates on a timely and accurate basis.
    • PROCESS IMPROVEMENT Continue to develop, maintain and propose improvements to the information systems being utilized including SAP in order to maximize their functionality, minimize the duplication of information and to ensure the most effective use to meet the business requirements.
    • COMMUNICATION Through effective communication with other departments and Regional Finance contribute to increasing and maintaining the awareness of financial considerations as an integral part of the company’s objectives. At own initiative propose changes to the processes that will improve communication and analysis of the data.

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Relevant Accounting qualification or university degree in business administration.
    • Background in Management and Cost accounting, Financial planning and reporting (at least 2 to 3 years), Controlling and Budgeting.
    • Work experience in the FMCG industry is considered an advantage.
