Key Performance Outputs

The successful person will be reporting to the Technical Operations Manager: Airport Operational Applications and will be responsible to:

• Ensure application system uptime meet/exceed SLA;
• Reduce impact of outages and incidents caused by poor configuration management and lack of maintenance;
• Ensure all applications systems, sources code and data are backed up;
• Ensure that all applications systems have Business Impact Assessment done, so that correct DR plans are put in place;
• Ensure that all application systems support redundancy and high availability;
• Ensure that all systems have the following environments (Dev, Test and Production);
• Prepare tender board submissions;
• Manage supplier metrics and SLA's;
• Create and maintain all applications system documentation (including process flow diagrams, requirements, Technical and Functional specifications and operations handbooks);
• Perform proactive problem identification and root cause analysis;
• Adhere to and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organizational standards, guidelines, policies and procedures and;
• Take lead in high priority incident management.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such, will be required:

• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences / Information Technology
• 5-7 years Application Development experience
• 3 - 5 years supervisory experience within an Information Technology environment
• Knowledge of writing code using multiple development languages (e.g. Java, .Net, C, C++, HTML, XML, SQL, VBA);
• Knowledge of ASP. NET, C#, MS SQL database and development tools;
• Knowledge of developing cross platform application;
• Knowledge of integration/interfacing of systems using common middleware tool and;
• Report writing.

It is essential that the incumbent is able to consistently deliver accurate work of a high quality by paying attention to detail and must be a team player.
