Product Lead at WhereIsMyTransport

Job description

WhereIsMyTransport is looking for a senior product manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for working with the engineering team to define a roadmap and specific features to be implemented. You’ll work closely with a team of engineers, data scientist, and data specialists to design, plan, and task out features. You will be responsible for ensuring the team is clear on the features and functionality as well as the timeline for implementation.

The data team is responsible for collecting, processing, and analysing a wealth of data related to transportation in emerging markets. You will be responsible for not only understanding the data we collect today, but working closely with our Data Team Lead to define new areas of opportunity. We collect a variety of data on transportation via several different methods. We have static, real-time, formal and informal data. You’ll be responsible for building scaleable systems to help collect this data as well as driving adoption of external tools that will increase our overall reach.

Responsibilities:

• Research, plan, and task fully functional features in all product areas.
• Assist with user research sessions, gather customer feedback pre and post launch, determine and track metrics for each release.
• Work with the engineering teams to deliver MVPs and iterate to a feature rich deliverable.
• Help your team deliver by keeping a backlog groomed, features well fleshed out, designs ahead of engineering, and distraction-free iterations.
• Create go-live strategies including rollout, documentation, and user communication for new features.
• Prioritise Backlog based on business impact.
• Get metrics/ROI on features pre/post implementation.
• Work closely with User Experience team.
• Ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple project/deals at the same time.
• Identifying, building relationships with, and integrating 3rd party tools, working closely with internal Business Development teams.
• Work closely with the Data Team Lead to ensure that all projects across the different data functions are clearly defined, scheduled, on track, and distraction-free.
• Work closely with team leadership to define best practices for Product Management and development process.

About you:

• 5-7 years in Product Management
• You are a natural leader, you don’t have to tell people what to do because they are willing to follow you.
• Formal Scrum/Agile/Kanban training strongly preferred.
• Passionate, incredible attention to detail, innate desire to execute and see results, team player.
• You don’t get distracted by shiny objects, you know that delivering on your features is the most important thing, and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
• You know when and how to say no.
• Experiencing with code a plus. You should be familiar with APIs and technical documentation.
• You know how to balance long term business goals with short term needs.
• Familiar with mobile applications and consumer adoption a plus.
• You believe that a short-term solution doesn’t come at the cost of long term value.
• You like talking to customers, getting feedback, and turning challenges into solutions.
