    Content Marketing and Social Media Manager

    Job description

    Our ideal caniddate is a creative marketing professional who is up-to-date with the latest content and social media trends and technologies. With an audience-centric, editorial mindset the successful candidate should be able to develop and promote engaging content to expand Go2Africa’s digital footprint and brand awareness.

    Ultimately, you will be required to:

    • Manage our social media accounts by implementing strategies and tactics that grow, engage and retain our followers, and help convert them into leads, customers, and active promoters of our company brand.
    • Create monthly newsletters, repeat traveller email campaigns, SEO and SEA micro-copy and infographic copy; working with the designers on memes and travel guides.
    • Create email campaigns including A/B tests, and track their effectiveness.
    • Research and write blogs, accommodation and tour write-ups, social media advertisements; create landing pages together with the acquisition manager.
    • Use WordPress, MailChimp or similar, Google Analytics, and the top social channels; and analyse and present content and social performance based on these tools.

    Qualifications and experience required

    • Relevant Marketing, Journalism or English Language (literature or teaching or Arts major) tertiary qualification
    • Advantageous certificates or courses: digital marketing, SEO copywriting, social media marketing, Google Analytics or similar
    • 3-5 years’ social media, copywriting, SEO or travel writing experience
    • Excellent brand building and writing skills supported by a portfolio of previous work / projects
    • African travel experience, travel marketing or online travel publication (advantageous)
