POSITION SUMMARY

Huawei South Africa is seeking a Business Applications Analyst to join our team of highly qualified individuals supporting our Business systems. The Business Analyst will work as a member in coordination with a team to support the IT Software constructions. The Analyst will take the lead on assigned tasks and projects, manage a Support Desk queue at times, provide direct end user support as needed, and monitor/maintain systems for efficient performance. The Analyst will also engage various department managers to gather and document system operational requirements to enhance business effectiveness. In conjunction with other team members and various departmental users, the Analyst will support and participate in system update/upgrade testing and certification on a regular basis. The team is also responsible for maintaining system documentation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interact with end users and project managers to communicate status and resolve issues
• Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings to non-technical
• Author technical and end-user guide documentation for applications as needed
• Completion of assigned tasks and projects
• Identify effective solutions for complex requirements
• Utilize SQL query tools and Report Writers to develop data sets for analysis
• Analyze business requirements and product specifications for system configuration and modification
• Adhere to procedures related to system development lifecycle management including maintenance, change management, requirements definition, design, build, testing and implementation
• Support the development and maintenance of system enhancements
• Support internal and external audit activities
• Interact regularly with department management and other key stakeholders
• Develop, deliver, and produce recurring project status reports, and system metrics for management
• Generate unit tests, test data and test scripts

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a South Africa Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Experience in the following areas is required:
• ERP systems support and End User support
• Use of MS SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server Management Studio
• Prior experience with J2EE is preferred
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
• Familiarity with Financial concepts and Project based software is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services is preferred

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• 4-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum)
• A total of at least 8-12 years of progressive experience in business systems analysis combined with skill in programming utilizing specialized languages, in developing or implementing IT infrastructure solutions and/or in working with mobilization solutions (or an equivalent combination of work experience and education).
• Master's degree preferred (e.g., finance, technical specialization or MBA).
