Job description

Purpose of role:

To create and optimise the IT networking system for Capitec Bank.
Key performance areas include defining Capitec Bank’s Network Strategy and Architecture, designing Network Solutions, implementing Network Designs as well as ad-hoc operational support.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• A networking related qualification (eg. CCNA / CCNP)
• A network security related qualification (eg. FCNSP / CCNA Security / CheckPoint).

Ideal:

Multiple qualifications in various networking disciplines like Routing, Switching, Firewall, IPS, VPN, Data Centre, Virtualization, etc.

Experience:

Minimum:

3+ years’ experience in the networking environment

Ideal:

1+ years as a specialist in a specific networking environment like Network Security or Data Centre implementations.

Knowledge & Skills:

Minimum:

• TCP/IP protocol stack
• Firewall topologies and configurations
• IPsec and SSL VPNs
• Router and Switch configurations
• Routing protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and Policy Based Routing
• Spanning-tree and VLAN configurations
• Network redundancy, high-availability design and load balancing implementations

• IPS configurations
• Secure Gateway / Forward Proxy configurations
• Malware protection
• NAC
• DLP
• Virtual Switching
• SDN
• Application Delivery Controllers
• Web Application Firewalls / Reverse proxies
• WLAN deployment and security
