Overview:

We are looking for a passionate Data Analyst to turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. Responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle activities to include requirements analysis and design, developing analysis and reporting capabilities, and continuously monitoring performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
• Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
• Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities

Requirements:

• Tertiary degree, diploma or certificate in a related field (BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics)
• 3 – 5 years’ working experience in related fields
• Proven working experience as a data analyst
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and development, data mining and segmentation techniques
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (SSRS, Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI etc), databases (SQL, Hadoop etc), programming (Python, XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Data mapping and transformation skills
• Analytical Skills: Work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. Ability to see through the data and analyze it to find patterns.
• Communication Skills: Present findings, or translate the data into an understandable document. Write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.
• Critical Thinking: Ability to look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.
