Job description

The primary role of this position is to create models and drawings, according to Data Centre standards.

Main Function of the Job

• Coordination of infrastructure drawings and specifications with architectural contract documents for telecommunication facilities infrastructure design and construction.
• Ensure detailed design drawings and specifications are developed using CAD equipment
• Ensure proposal and costing drawings have no errors
• Ensure consultation with colleagues/customers to design, layout or detail components and systems to resolve design or other problems
• Ensure that drawings are checked, approved and files in accordance with company quality system.
• Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
• Draft and prepare layout drawings of the given structures, components and devices.
• Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
• Main duty will be performing data updates and maintenance to complete work orders to the legacy mapping system using AutoCAD Software.
• Prepare straightforward 3D models and 2D detailed drawings of floor plans and data centres
• Creates and modifies maps for special assignments.
• Ensure quality and safety standards are adhered to and integrated into design and procedures, design specifications and ISO standards are adhered to

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric qualifications
• 5+ years relevant working experience
• Advance Microsoft Office skills
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor- Minimum of 5 years working experience
• Advanced knowledge of Parametric design principle
• Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D packages
• Draughting or similar and recognised training in Autocad and Inventor software
• Understand electrical components for CAD SLD’s
• Understand mechanical components for CAD SLD’s
• Understand architectural components for CAD SLD’s
