Temporary Cook (Tokai) at Faircape Group

Job description

Faircape Health, a division of the Faircape Group, owns and manages six luxury retirement/lifestyle villages within the Western Cape.

We have a temporary vacancy for an experienced cook to join our energetic team at Tokai Estate.

The incumbent will be involved with the preparation and serving of good quality meals and take into account any special dietary requirements of residents.

Job duties include, but is not limited to the following:

• To prepare and cook all meals for the health care and main dining room as specified on the various menus.
• To complete all the prepping of food needed the next day
• Ensure all items are stored correctly in the relevant areas
• To assist in the monthly stock taking by accurately counting stock
• To ensure the kitchen and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy at all times
• To report any damage or broken equipment as soon as possible
• To abide by all rules and conditions stipulated in the Health and Safety Manual

Requirements

Experience and knowledge:

• Similar experience in the kitchen and food preparation
• Knowledge of standard kitchen equipment, utensils and measurements
• Knowledge of sanitation practices related to handling and serving food
• Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
