Key Performance Areas:
Overseeing infrastructure, capacity planning and management
- IT Enterprise Operations Roadmap
- Infrastructure administration: SQL, servers, server virtualisation, networks, and data storage
- Data backups and replication
- Desktops and other end user devices
- Data lines and connectivity
- Managing IT service continuity and availability
Liaise and co-ordinate with external ICT providers
Project Management
Financial management
- Quality input into IT division budgets and forecasts.
- Departmental expenses in line with budget.
Oversee the following functions:
- Telephony environments and voice recordings
- Monitoring of IT production infrastructure, processes and services
- IT service delivery including the Service Desk
- User and access management
- Database administration
- Infrastructure and supplier change management
- DR and Business continuity sites
Measurement and reporting
- Quality input into reporting templates and metrics for operational performance.
- Measure and monitor Department operational performance metrics (daily, weekly, and monthly).
Technical standards/documentation
Planning; prioritizing and work allocation; monitoring
Leadership and people management
- Lead and manage operational priorities and workflow within the team.
- Quality input on HR structures (roles and responsibilities) and resources to support team operational priorities
- Motivate, empower and discipline employees.
- Advise and give input on team member training and development needs.
Qualification:
Tertiary technical qualification - N Dip IT, B Tech IT, BSc IT or similar
Experience:
- 7 years infrastructure experience (Windows Server, virtualisation, SAN technologies, Networking)
- 5 years IT management experience
