The Role

PRIMARY POSITION PURPOSE

Regional IT Support at SMEC Cape Town

REPORTS TO

Senior IT Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

With a minimum of 1 years’ experience, you will play a key role in:

• Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications
• Troubleshooting system, computer and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults.
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
• Ensuring successful backups of data
• Ensuring printers are in good running condition and enough supplies are available
• Staff/Customer support
• Setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues
• Talking staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues
• Maintaining computer systems
• Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
• Replacing parts as required

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Relevant IT qualification
• 0 - 2 years working experience in domain environment will be advantage
• Active Directory
• A+ and N+ or relevant qualification.
• MS Office 2007/ 2010/ 2013
• MS Server 2003/ 2008/ 2012
