Job Description

Atlas Copco South Africa Mining & Rock Excavation Technique requires a highly-motivated, enthusiastic and results driven Automation Support Specialist for the Application Center in South Africa.Entering a new era with Automation projects leads to an increasing demand for highly qualified support and local development capabilities. The main responsibilities of the position are to:

• Work with local adaptations of the control system functionality including programming and testing.
• Feedback new requirements on the system based on the experiences in field.
• Support the ongoing automation projects in the South African market.
• Handle commissioning and customizations of bigger Automation sales.
• Handle upgrades and do troubleshooting on existing installations.
• Feedback product experience to the product company in Sweden.
• Offer support to product specialist when it comes to advanced RCS functions and integrations.

Experience Requirements

• Required to have 3-5 years of experience of electronics / software design
• Preferably have experience working with Trimble, Leica GPS systems

Jet ParkKnowledge

• Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems including Canbus
• Good understanding of radio/network systems specifically WLAN (2.4-5.4 GHz), 450-900 MHz communication.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be a definite advantage.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. Post Graduate qualification in Computer Science preferred.

Personality Requirements

• Good communication skills internally and externally and willing to develop strong relations with the Development Center in Sweden.
• Project Leader skills is a plus.
