Job Purpose

JUMO is looking for an project manager who will thrive in a fast paced, dynamic and complex environment. Reporting to the Head of Implementations, you will be responsible for the scoping, planning, management and execution of activation and integration projects with mobile network and financial service partners. The successful candidate will join a small team of execution focused project managers delivering on a variety of projects across several African and Asian territories. The position is based in Cape Town and will involve regular, often unplanned, travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Effective project management to efficiently drive and deliver projects that meet critical success criteria.
• Collaborate with multiple internal teams to consistently achieve high levels of project quality and speed of delivery.
• Work closely with the technical teams to manage project timelines, risks and resourcing.
• Manage and foster effective relationships with key stakeholders through clear, consistent communication and collaboration.
• Simplify, standardise and automate key project processes and documentation.
• Use specialist project management skills to measure and report on outcomes, share insights and implement iterative solutions.
• Use agile principles to foster continuous improvement in the execution of implementation projects.
• Apply key learnings and provide feedback loops to improve effectiveness and speed of future projects
• Create, record, update and maintain critical project documentation.

Requirements (Qualifications and Experience)

• Formal qualification, ideally project management or business degree.
• 5+ years of project management experience in complex environments relating to telecoms, finance or IT.
• The ability to adapt to change in a delivery focused, fast-growth fintech business.
• Experience of both Agile and Waterfall environments.
• Effective time management and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of Mobile Money and experience in emerging markets in Africa and Asia advantageous.
