    Sales Account Manager-Trainee, South Africa, Food Colors South Africa

    Job description

    We are currently searching a new team colleague who is interested in our

    Graduate Sales Trainee Program.

    Job Summary

    The Sales Trainee is an entry level position designed to develop you as a dynamic, high potential candidate who is interested in pursuing a successful career in Color Sales in South Africa.

    The Program will provide you with a well-rounded, thorough understanding of the value-added applications within our organization and to systematically grow and develop talent over a at least 2-year period, in preparation to become a successful Sales Account Manager.

    You will be given rotational assignments that serve various functions, and will receive increasing responsibilities with client interaction and eventually transition into a full-time sales role. The Program will provide sequential on-the-job experience, job shadowing and opportunities to practice skills and receive leadership and sales coaching.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Key elements of your program comprise trainings with Customer Service and Technical/ R&D. Operations, Marketing, Regulatory, Purchasing, Finance, and ongoing sales shadowing will be also included.
    • You will receive ongoing progress support and evaluation to ensure requirements and objectives are met.
    • You will receive leadership coaching to enhance necessary skills needed for success in the role of Sales Account Manager, including: organizing and leading a meeting, facilitation skills, project management skills, active listening, developing presentations, public speaking, negotiation skills, and conflict resolution.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Economics or related fields.
    • Prior experience in customer service or sales is a plus.
    • To be considered you must be able to speak and write in fluent business English. Having other South African language skills is an advantage but not mandatory.

    Personal Skills and Location

    We seek highly-energetic achievers that have strong technical acumen, but who are interested in pursuing the commercial and business side of the industry.
    The ideal candidate will be an outgoing, highly-ambitious risk taker who has demonstrated prior involvement in extracurricular activities, internships, or other work experience. Excellent communication and people skills are required.
    This position requires some travel so flexibility and availability is essential.
    Upon successful completion of the Training Program, the Sales Trainee will transition into a permanent Sales Account Manager position and must be willing to permanently live within their assigned geographical territory.
