    Finance Administrator

    • The Finance Administrator is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger and ensuring accurate records to the point of providing the trial balance for reporting purposes.
    • This includes tasks related to financial reporting, analysis and compliance i.e. performing critical reconciliation and ensuring reoccurring and adjustment journals.

    Minimum requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • 2 - 5 years' experience in general accounting or related fields
    • Proven computer literacy
    • Prove excel proficiency
    • 2 - 5 years SAP Experience

    ​​​​​​​Key Responsibilities

    Reporting   

    • Ensure contractual costs are accounted for in management account – check that it is in line with SLA
    • Process the allocations of relevant expenses to the respective business units within the company
    • Report on the allocations in relation to the completeness, timelines and cycles as well as exceptions together with changes
    • Ensure that accruals are complete and current within the correct reporting period
    • Ensure that the respective expenses are recorded in the management account to the correct profit center and general ledger
    • Produce required reports for various areas in the business based on
    • requirements and business focus areas
    • Distribute exception reporting to the business for entries that will affect the management account as result of changes in postings and allocations

    Compliance

    • Ensure the line items (Expenses and Income) are recorded in line with accounting practices
    • Manage purchase order process by ensuring that orders are generated timeous and to the correct general ledger and profit center
    • Ensure that costs are accounted for to the correct general ledger within the correct reporting period
    • Process journals and intercompany journals for complex entries – expenses and accruals
    • Process accrual reversal, ensuring that no old accruals remain and that valid open accruals are in place

    Communication

    • Manage the open orders within the business to ensure we have the expenses accounted for, liabilities incurred from services rendered, and goods (assets) delivered
    • Communicate queries that arise from incorrect reporting that may occur with
    • incorrect PO creation or invoice posting
    • Provide commentary on expense general ledger to budget variance and growth against last year
    • Provide commentary on accruals when checking the movement against
    • previous year and prior month to ensure that there is no unaccounted liability
    • Assist store manager with their expense line items that feedback into the P&Ls

    • The Head of Department for Mobile at Pick n Pay is a key leadership role responsible for driving Cellular and Mobile (MVNO) product & partnership development and growth, innovation, sales management, buying and demand planning and staff development within the Mobile department.
    • This role plays a crucial part in shaping the strategic growth of Pick n Pay by leveraging mobile technologies and services to enhance customer experience and drive business objectives.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in mobile telecommunications, retail, or related industries, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
    • Proven track record of success in partnership development, innovation, and sales management.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.

    Senior Manager Analytics

    • To lead the analytics and data science function, delivering advanced analytical insights, predictive models, and other AI/ML solutions that drive commercial impact, operational efficiency, and customer engagement for Pick n Pay.

    This role is accountable for:

    • Building and managing a high-performing team of analysts and data scientists.
    • Overseeing the analytics and data science roadmap.
    • Implementing a demand process for analytics and data science requests.
    • Ensuring the effective embedding of insights into decision-making across the organisation.
    • The Senior Manager works closely with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, scope analytical projects, and measure value delivered.
    • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
    • Preferred: Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline; certifications in AI/ML or advanced analytics tools (e.g. Python, R).
    • Minimum: 8+ years in analytics or data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

    Preferred:

    • Retail/FMCG analytics experience
    • Proven delivery of predictive and prescriptive analytics solutions at scale
    • Experience managing hybrid teams and multiple concurrent projects
    • Strong commercial acumen
    • Proficiency in analytics tools and technologies including Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, Python, Power BI, BigQuery, Redshift or comparable platforms.
    • Working knowledge of statistical modelling, machine learning, and advanced analytics foundations such as regression, decision trees, random forests, gradient boosting, clustering, feature engineering, cross-validation
    • Git basics – code review and collaboration
    • Experience turning raw data into actionable insights through advanced modelling.

    • Lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of predictive models (price elasticity and optimization, promo effectiveness, demand forecasting), customer segmentation and recommendation systems to enable proactive decision making across the organization.
    • Lead experimentation practices such as A/B testing, control group design and causal inference to validate
      impact before scaling solutions
    • Ensure ethical, transparent, and privacy-compliant use of AI/ML techniques.

    • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Reporting teams to ensure timely access to quality data for analysis and model development
    • Define and oversee end-to-end data science project lifecycles — from problem framing to deployment.
    • Review methodologies, model designs, and analysis approaches for technical soundness
    • Ensure reproducibility, proper documentation, and adherence to best practices
