Boiler/Kiln Fitter at Merensky Timber

Job description

A vacancy exists within Merensky at (SFP – Langeni Sawmill), situated near Mthatha in the Eastern Cape, for a suitably qualified and experienced Boiler / Kiln Fitter (Steam Fitter).

The successful incumbent must comply with the following criteria:

Position Specifications:

• Grade 12
• NTC 3 Trade Test, Fitter & Turner Trade Test Certificates
• Knowledge and experience in hydraulics & pneumatics, boiler & steam applications, variable speed gearboxes, overhead cranes, PLC`s & electronics
• At least 5 years’ experience in a production based environment.
• Knowledge of the sawmill industry

Person Requirements:

• Must be able to communicate at all levels
• Must have a high level of commitment to accuracy and quality
• Must be technology inclined
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must be innovative and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Must be safety conscious
