Test Analyst (SIT) at CSG International

Job description

Location: Fairlands, Johannesburg

You will be responsible for working independently to create test scripts and the execution of testing of software related to implementation of company software products. Also responsible for the review of Module Definitions or Design Specifications ​

A seasoned tester with QA and System integration experience. The individual must be able to be understand the methodologies and principles of testing lifecycles and a reasonably good understanding of the telecommunication business. The test specialist also requires good understanding of credit vetting principles and has been involved in this type of testing. Billing experience using, Singleview and eppix application experience are an added advantage if the tester has had exposure to it.

Essential Job Functions

Responsibility % of Time

• Creates/modifies test objectives, test scripts, test scenarios, test cases and test data ; performs the reviews of test scripts, test scenarios, test cases and test data
• Writes and executes test scripts/harness and record results.
• Integrate enhancements to test scripts while maintaining consistency of performance expectations

• Review Module Definitions or Design Specifications and creates complex test scripts and test data.
• Attend walk-throughs of new functionality

• Regularly consults the architects on behalf of the team to ensure and maintain technical integrity of the project.

• Gather statistics from different testing phases and produce management reports.

• Keep Testing Leader informed of delays in testing activities or problems arising from variances
• 5%
• Mentors less experienced staff and consults with peers
• 5%
• Enhances testing environment by directing and developing custom testing tools and automated procedures

Education

(Education, training and/or certifications typically required to successfully perform the job.)

Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business or equivalent education/experience

Experience

(Minimum level of related experience typically required to successfully perform the job and preferred experience that would also be beneficial to have in this job.)

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a software development or testing role plus other qualification
• Good understanding of credit vetting principles
• Experience in developing and executing test plans and scripts
• Telecommunications industry experience and related product knowledge

Preferred

Experience with multi-user, complex software applications preferred

• Full understanding of client requirements and CSG product implementation.
• Able to gain full understanding of client requirements and detailed working knowledge of at least one CSG product.

• Broad understanding of UNIX operating environment
• Knowledge of at least one programming, ability to analyze defects
• Working experience using SQL
• Knowledge of industry standards and procedures in Software Testing.

• Have excellent communication skills to understand and clarify/implement moderately complex instructions
