JOB DESCRIPTION

Financial services industry experience is essential. Relevant legislation includesCollective Investment Schemes Control Act, Long Term Insurance Act,Pension Funds Act, Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, Income Tax Act, Financial Intelligence Centre Act, Protection of Personal Information Act.

Duties

• Advise on the legal and compliance framework for new and existing products with reference to the above legislation and assist with implementation thereof  
• Drafting and reviewing of legal agreements and resolutions, from both a legal and business perspective
• Advise on any amendments to existing legislation or new legislation that may affect the company and the likely implications thereof
• Provide support for the compliance team
• Consult with other legal experts within the industry where necessary
• Provide general legal support for business units      

Requirements

• Relevant qualification with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
• Admitted Attorney
• Experience in Financial Services Industry - essential
• Knowledge of and interest in the all relevant legislation i.e. Collective Investment Schemes Control Act, Long Term Insurance Act,Pension Funds Act, Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, Income Tax Act, Financial Intelligence Centre Act, Protection of Personal Information Act.
• Qualification in Financial Planning would be a benefit
