    Instructional Writers

    Job description

    We wish to appoint "Instructional Writers" into full-time, fixed-term contract (1 year) positions in Cape Town, starting in August 2017.

    The Work

    As a writer with us, you would research, structure, write and edit e-learning content for our international client, a major e-learning provider. The subject matter covers legal compliance and environmental safety and health regulations, as well as software use and coding languages, and is created for online delivery to our client’s global workforce.

    Location & Training

    You would be based full-time at our offices in the Cape Town CBD, near Greenmarket Square. Initial training will be provided, followed by on-the-job guidance from experienced colleagues.

    Requirements

    • You must have a University degree, in any discipline.
    • You will have to demonstrate your excellent English writing skills in your letter of application, and – if invited – in a short writing exercise.
    • You must be a fast learner, able to research and structure technical material that may be unfamiliar to you, quickly and sensibly.
    • You must have an eye for detail, and be able to edit written content to adhere to a specific House Style.
    • You will need to be comfortable working with new software, and have an aptitude for familiarising yourself with new software tools.
    • Proficient computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office are assumed.
